About Esc Tools
Esc Tools is a small collection of free tools for sole traders, freelancers, subcontractors and small companies in the UK. Each one does a single job properly, runs in your browser, and asks for nothing in return. It started with a UK invoice generator, because most free invoice tools are built for the US, ignore VAT rules, and have never heard of CIS. A late payment interest calculator and an IBAN checker followed.
Who runs it
Esc Tools is run by Nathan Jones, trading as Tagnator, an independent software studio based in the United Kingdom. You can reach us at support@tagnator.com. We aim to reply within two working days.
How the tools work
Everything runs in your browser. When you type, a small script works out the numbers and redraws the page. "Download PDF" uses your browser's own print-to-PDF feature, so the file is created on your device. Anything a tool remembers, such as your business details or the next invoice number, is kept in your browser's local storage so you do not retype it. We never see it, and there is no account to create.
Accuracy
VAT rates, CIS percentages and the late-payment rules follow HMRC and GOV.UK guidance as of the review date at the bottom of this page. The Bank of England base rate used by the late payment calculator is reviewed after each Monetary Policy Committee decision. If you spot an error, email us and we will fix it.
How the site is funded
The tools are free and will stay free. Pages may show adverts and may include links to business banking or accounting products. If you open an account through one of those links we may receive a commission. Those links are always marked as sponsored, and they never change the numbers a tool produces.

If there is a small, well-defined job you keep doing by hand, tell us. Next on the list are an EV salary sacrifice calculator and a domain name availability checker.
